She Lay On My Bed

She lay on my bed with knees drawn into her chest.

The contours of her side curved into a Spanish guitar shape;

One arm lain along, the other jutting out

Where her light silken hand rested in mine.

Brown eyes hid in slits ‘neath her honeyed brow.

Lips; red velvet stretched across her cheeks,

Almost inviting to kiss.

How blind mine were to miss such sweet incumbent bliss!
